Virgil Pat Russell

Virgil Pat Russell went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 5, 2024, in Byram, MS. He was 84 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2024, and again from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Blvd. in Jackson, MS.

Pat was born on January 25, 1939, to Virgil Donnie Russell in Florence, MS. He was a graduate of Florence High School and a member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church. He retired from IBEW and was a member of Evening Star Lodge where he was a Master Mason. Pat was owner/operator of Russell Trucking and M A Trucking. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends.

Pat is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Donnie Russell; brother, Bob Russell; sisters, Carolyn Breakfield and Nanette Herring; and stepdaughter, Terri Hester. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Ann Russell of Florence; stepdaughters, Renea Jones (James) of TX, Mamie DuBose (Russ) of Georgetown, Tanya Peacock (Stanley) of Mendenhall, Candy Smith (Gary) of Mendenhall and Brittney Minyard (Kevin) of Vicksburg; 6 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; brother, Don Russell (Jean) of Richland; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
