Mrs. Carole Virginia Adams, 73, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Visitation will be held from 11:00-2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.\ \ Mrs. Adams, a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church, was a native of Dupont, Georgia. She was very active in P.T.A. work and band parenting at Woodville Heights Elementary School, Forest Hill High School, and the Little Red School for Special Education (now Willowood). She was a member of the Jackson Symphony League for several years, serving on various committees. Mrs. Adams was active in scouting, having served as Den Mother for several years. She helped establish the first Cub Scout Den for handicapped boys at the Little Red School. She was also a member of the Quota Club in Mississippi.\ \ Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents, Robert J. and Mary F. Gaskin Allison; and by her husband, William W. Adams. She is survived by her sons, Michael Kirby Day (Lisa) of Jackson, Robert William Day (Pauline) of Terry, Kevin Scott Day of Byram, and William McClintock Day (Christy) of Sugarland, TX. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Lehendro Allison of Georgia; sister, Joanne Allison Coleman of Newport News, VA; and six grandchildren.\ \ The family has requested that memorials be made to SON Valley, PO Box 406, Canton, MS 39046.
