Mrs. Virginia Busby Oswalt

Virginia Busby Oswalt Byram, MS Mama was greeted at the gates of heaven on April 2, 2022 by our Dad. She was born on January 19, 1943 in Bogalusa, LA to Johnnie and Brattice Busby. They moved to Jackson as a child and that is where she made her life. In 1961 she married the love of her life, David Oswalt. They would remain married for 59 years. During that time, they would raise four kids and love on countless foster children. She would also work for Sears for 21 years. She loved gospel music and attending gospel singings. She adored her husband, kids, and grandkids. They were her life. Her beloved husband “Pop” preceded her in death in 2020. After Pop’s death she found happiness and companionship with Rush Neal. They married in 2021 and we thank him for making Mama happy and taking care of her. She was also greeted in heaven by her brothers Eddie and James Busby, her sister, Faye Haley and her beloved grandson, Justin Pranger. She leaves behind two sons, Johnnie and Edward Oswalt, two daughters, Davida (Ron) Pranger and Paula (Kyle) Edwards; ten grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends who loved her dearly. Rest now Mama, We Love You! The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Chancellor Funeral Home 7225 S. Siwell Road, Byram, MS. A graveside service and interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6 in Lakewood Memorial Park South where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband “Pop”.
