Wallace E. Berry, Sr.

Wallace E. Berry, Sr., 74, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at VA Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and 9am until the 10am funeral service Friday, December 5, 2008 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.\ \ A native of Columbia, Mr. Berry had moved to Jackson in 1962 and retired from the City of Jackson after 34 years as a superintendent. A U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict, Mr. Berry was a member of American Legion Post #112, a Mason of James A. Myers Lodge and Wahabi Temple Shriner. Mr. Berry was a member of Wynndale Baptist Church.\ \ Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Willie Berry of Terry; son, Wallace E. Berry (Dianne) of Crystal Springs; daughters, Sharon L.
