Walter Birdsong

Mr. Walter Ernest Birdsong, Sr., 68, died at MS Baptist Medical Center, Friday, July 17, 2009. Family and friends will gather at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence Thursday from 6-7 p.m. prior to his memorial service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.\ \ He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marcia.\ \ Mr. Birdsong, a devoted family man and a world renowned businessman, loved his family and career. He formed W.E. Birdsong Associates which he owned and operated and created a patented metal coating for weapons. This fulfilled his love and affection for military and armaments. He also loved flying and airplanes.\ \ He is survived and remembered by his sons: Richard Hampton Birdsong of Silver Springs, MD, Walter E. Birdsong, Jr. of Florence, Tyler Birdsong of Byram; brother, George Birdsong of Brookhaven; sister, Dorothy Dunbar of Texas and 4 granddaughters\
