Walter C. Scott, age 92, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland, MS. Mr. Scott was a resident of Madison, MS, having moved recently from Loves Park, IL,\ to be near family.\ \ Visitation will be Monday, May 12, 2008 from 10:00-11:00am followed by a brief service at Atkinson Funeral Home, Malvern, AR, with Rev. W. L. Davis officiating. Interment will be in Rockport Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Scott was born August 1, 1915, in Malvern, AR, to the late William P. and Katie Mae Gates Scott. He married Gladys Faye Anderson in 1933 in Malvern and was employed by the International Shoe Company. After the death of his wife Gladys, the mother of his children, in 1968 he relocated to Loves Park, IL. He retired from Roper Whitney Corp., Rockford, IL. He married Vivian T. Roe in Waupaca, WI, in 1974. He was a member of Riverside Assembly of God Church in Rockford and loved his church family. He served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.\ \ He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald W. Scott; a daughter, Judith F. Davis; a sister, Ruth Graham; and brothers, Louis H. Scott, Edward L. Scott, and Lee E. Scott.\ \ He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of Madison, MS, daughter and son-in-law, Virginia S. and Charles A. Baker of Brandon, MS; son-in-law, Rev. W. L. Davis of Raymond, MS; step-son, V. Dale Roe of Madison, WI.\ \ He is also survived by grandchildren, Kevin R. (Carol) Baker and great- grandsons, Chase, Samuel, and Nathaniel of Madison, MS; Ken D. (Jerri) Baker and great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kaitlyn of Troy, MI; Lorie D. (James) Hedgepeth and great-grandson, Jerid, of Florence, MS; Mark C. (Dawn) Davis and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Cameron, and Judith Avery of Raymond, MS; Scott A. (Janice) Davis and great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Walter, and Emily of Laurel, MS; Rebecca (Hardy) Winburn and great-grandchildren, Hardy and Hope of Little Rock, AR; Deborah (Peter) Moshel, and great-granddaughter,\ Sophia of Little Rock, AR; step-grandson, Corky (Valerie) Roe of Milwaukee, WI; step-granddaughter, Misti Roe of Madison, WI; brother, Harold J. (Bernice) Scott of Hot Springs, AR; and George F. (Barbara) Scott of Loves Park,IL.\ \ Memorials may be made to Riverside Assembly of God Church, 4242 W.
