Mr. Wayne Hemphill Sr.

Harold “Wayne” Hemphill, Sr., 70, of the Hopewell community passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Thursday, May 4th from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service at Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. A lifelong resident of the Hopewell community, Harold was member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He worked in construction operating heavy equipment until he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved him family and went out of his way to help others. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, William “Bilbo” and Beatrice Hemphill and his brother, William D. "Billy" Hemphill. He is survived by his sons, Harold “Wayne” Hemphill, Jr. (Alicia) of Florence and William D. Hemphill of Richland; daughter, Beanita (Donald) Snyder of Albany, GA; two grandchildren, Hunter and Ann Hemphill; and sister, B. Sarrett of Pearl.
