Wendy Day Bunch passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. She was 44 years old. Her family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and again, Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. funeral service all at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Wendy was born December 4, 1977 in Baton Rouge, LA to Jerry and Earlene Day. She was an active member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence, where she was involved with Celebrate Recovery, served in the nursery faithfully, and was famously known as “The Baby Lover”. She loved children and any chance she could get to hold a baby, she would take it. She was the Assistant Coordinator at the Central MS Chapter of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, making sure children received toys at Christmas. Wendy also enjoyed and excelled at cooking. She was always planning big meals, and offering her food, especially her sweets to others. She was devoted to her family, especially her niece and nephews. Wendy’s faith was strong and she loved her Lord. There is no doubt she is holding babies at the feet of Jesus. Wendy is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Day, Sr.; her father-in-law, Carmen Bunch; and her great nephew, Payton Day. She is survived by her mother and best friend, Earlene Day of Florence; her husband of almost 4 years, Curtis Bunch of Florence; her brother, Sonny Day and his wife, Kelly Day of Florence; her pride and joys, her niece and nephews, Samuel and his wife, Dixie Day of Brandon, Stephanie Day, and Sean Day of Florence; mother-in-law, Linda Bunch of Florence; brother-in-law, Steve Bunch of LA; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Toys for Tots in her honor.
