William Carl Mancil, age 86, longtime resident of Richland, MS, died Friday, May 20, 2022 at his home. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, May 23 at Chancellor Funeral Home Florence from 12:30 until the Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Richland City Cemetery. Mr. Mancil was born in Harrisville, MS, the only child of Carl Mancil and Louise "Polly" Dear Mancil who both preceded him in death. He graduated from Hinds Junior College and worked as a sales representative for building and construction materials for many years before retiring. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Richland where he had formerly served as a Deacon. He was an active member of the Lions Club, a big fan of MSU, and an avid golfer. Since he left this world Friday, he has undoubtedly played a round or three of golf with one of his longtime golfing pals, Billy Ray Mangum. Mr. Mancil loved God, his family, helping others, and was an all-around "great guy". He will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory, is his wife of 66 years, Clara Nell Mancil; one son, William “Scot” Mancil (Susan); one daughter, Sherri Mancil (Bob Adams); two grandchildren, Kyle Mancil (Karla) and Kendal Mancil; two great-grandchildren, Rhett Mancil and Millie Mancil; and numerous other relatives and friends.
