A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, William D. Gambill, Jr. (Bill) of Jackson, Mississippi, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center of Jackson. \ Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday, November 26, 2012, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. The Celebration of his life will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Country Woods Baptist Church with burial in Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, Mississippi.\ He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kaye Frances Rutledge Gambill, and three children Doug (Sheila), and Brad Gambill, and Angela Kay Gambill Trehan (Vishesh). He is also survived by four grandchildren, Scott Gambill, Connor Gambill, Emily Gambill, and Anjali Trehan; one brother; and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Marguerite Gambill.\ Bill was born in Booneville, Mississippi, July 28, 1936, to Douglas and Marguerite Gambill. He was educated in Booneville Schools, graduating from Booneville High School. He began a career with Pitney Bowes as the youngest hired service technician. His career with Pitney lasted 35 years as he worked his way to become the branch service manager servicing the entire State of Mississippi. During his time with Pitney he earned his mechanical and electrical engineering degrees. \ Bill chose to retire from Pitney to become an entrepreneur. In 1992, Bill and his family embarked on a new venture, Mailroom Consultants, Inc. Mailroom Consultants owes its success to his continued work in sales and service. Bill worked at his company, Mailroom Consultants, Inc., until his recent death. \ Bill leaves a legacy of leadership, service to others, and a love for Jesus Christ. He was a devoted Sunday School teacher and deacon of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church for over 30 years. In 2000, Bill became a member of Country Woods Baptist Church and was an active member until his death. Bill influenced many young men while leading in the Boy Scouts of America as Assistant Scout Master. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Core for 8 years. Other organizations that he served through include the Byram Lions Club, Junior Achievement of Jackson and the Jackson Amateur Radio Club, as licensed HAM Radio Operator, KC5VTQ. As the founder of the Jackson Ski Club, Bill enjoyed arranging multiple ski trips to Colorado. He touched many lives through his kindness and loving spirit. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.\ Furthermore, the family would like to thank the staff of the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center; the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of MBMC; Dr. Murphy Martin; the Doctors of Jackson Heart, Dr. Harper and Dr. Crowder; Dr. Paul Sheffield for their compassionate care and kindness. \ Memorials can be made to Country Woods Baptist Church, 6737 Siwell Road, Byram, MS 39272 or the Byram Lions Club, 5010 Kay Brook Dr., Byram, MS 39272.\
