Mr. William Daniel Roberts, 81, passed away after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at First Pentecostal Church with interment in Lakewood South Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 -8:00 PM Monday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and from 10:00 AM until service time Tuesday at the church.\ \ Mr. Roberts was born November 24, 1930 in Prentiss, MS to the late Maxie and Mary Etta Lee Roberts. A charter member of First Pentecostal Church of Jackson, Mr. Roberts served as the original Sunday School Superintendant and as Deacon. He also served as a Gideon. Dan was an avid bream fisherman and loved the game of golf, proud to have hit a hole-in-one. Mr. Roberts' children and grandchildren have fond memories of their father and grandfather's love for fishing and golfing. \ \ Dan was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brothers, James and Charles Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arlene Roberts of Byram; and daughters, Robin Lowery (Danny) of Crystal Springs, and Dana Matthews (Charlie) of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by his five brothers, Bill, Lewis, and Bob Roberts of Mt. Olive, Sam Roberts of White Oak, and George Roberts of Raymond; his sister, Francis Lack of Mt. Olive; along with his grandchildren, Ben Lowery (Jamie), Blake Matthews (Krystal), Emilee Peoples (Derek), and Brady Lowery (Morgan Landreth); and by his great-grandchildren, Landon and Judah Lowery, and Bella, Ava, and Charley Matthews and Afton Peoples.\ \ The family would like to offer special appreciation to the staffs of the MICU at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice Ministries, and Copiah Living Center for their compassion and care during this time.\
