He lived in Florence for the past 15 years, moving from Richland, where he lived for 30 years. He worked all his life in the construction industry hanging dry wall. He was proud but humble. He loved fiercely, joked constantly, and spent all of his days caring for others. If he knew you, he loved you. And boy did he love his family and friends. He was told he would go home Tuesday, and that, he did. “If the story was told, only Heaven knows, but his hat seemed to me like an old halo. And though his wings, they were never seen, I thought that he walked on water.” Along with his parents, Mr. Roberts is also preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 69 ½ years, Bonnie Roberts of Florence; sons, Andy (Ann) Roberts of Richland, Danny ( Melinda) Roberts of Florence, and Bill ( Judy) Roberts of Florence; daughters, Molenda (Terry) Burnett of Richland and Tammy (Mike) Blaine of Byram; sister, Paulette Vaughn of Florence; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
