Willie Jean Summers

Willie Jean Summers went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 20, 2024, at her home in Flowood, MS. She was 84 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Mize, MS.

Jean was born on August 19, 1939, to Orange Clinton Ainsworth and Rachel Thornton Ainsworth in Mize, MS. Jean was from Flowood, MS where she was a member of Christway Church. She loved the Lord and shared Him with everyone that she encountered. Jean was a Gideon’s wife for 49 years. She was a devout Christian woman and a true warrior for Christ. She loved spending time with Him and reading His word. Mrs. Jean loved her family and her church family. She had 21 family members at church with her on Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. She will truly be missed.

Mrs. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Rachel Adcock. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jess Summers of Flowood, MS; children, Kimberly Wilson (Frank) of Pearl, MS, Greg McGuffee (Cathy) of Flowood, MS, and Scott Summers of Madison, MS, brother, Phil Adcock (Jennifer) of Raymond, MS; 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
