Mrs. Wilma Jewel Johnson

Wilma Jewel Rice Johnson, 83, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and one hour prior to the 10:00 AM funeral service at Harrisville United Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Interment will follow at the Harrisville Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson lived in Harrisville her entire life and worked at Baptist Hospital for 37 years. She was an excellent gardener and enjoyed cooking. Frequently, she provided flowers for Harrisville United Methodist Church where she was a member and an enthusiastic volunteer. Her life was spent caring for others. Preceding Mrs. Johnson in death was a niece, Sheila Gordon, and a step-son, Walter G. Johnson, Jr. Survivors include her husband, Walter G. Johnson, Sr., a step-son, Bubba (Velvet) Johnson of Florence; a step-daughter Belinda (Larry) Williams of Harrisville; a brother, A.V. (Bernice) Rice of Florence; a sister, Lurlene (Morris) Gordon of Harrisville; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; four nieces, and four nephews.
