Wilma Loraine Hales Purvis, 92, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the Magnolia Nursing Home in Jackson, Mississippi with her family at her bedside. Visitation Tuesday, June 2, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home, 7225 Siwell Road, Byram, Mississippi. Funeral service 10am Wednesday, June 3 at Chancellor Funeral Home with burial at Bethel Cemetery in Smith Community, Flora, Mississippi.\ \ Mrs. Purvis was born in Smith Community, Madison County. She was a life long member of Franklin Baptist Church where her grandfather, Otho Robert Singleton Franklin, was one of the founding fathers.\ \ Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Webster Purvis; her previous husband, George Alexander Hales; her son, Billy Reams Hales; a stepson, Raymond Purvis; 1 brother and 2 sisters.\ \ She is survived by a sister, Daisy Margolin; 2 daughters; Mary Lois Allen (Marty) and Emily Ann Jones; 2 stepsons, Hugh Purvis (Inez) and Richard Purvis (Dot); 2 stepdaughters, Joann Kervin (Stanley), and Teresa Green (Donnie); grandchildren, Denise Cormier (Mark), James Martinos (Tracey), Alex Jones (LaSonia), Billinda Pointer (David), Lisa Joyce (Andy) and Lori Richardson (Scotty); 15 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren. \
