Wilma H. Stomberg, 96, of Byram, MS, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 01, 2021. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 03, 2021 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Natchez Trace Cemetery. Wilma was born on October 23, 1924 to William and Marguerite Leppin in Peoria, IL. She married Mervin E. Stomberg on December 28, 1941. They resided in the Peoria and Trivoli, IL area and had six children. They moved to Brandon, MS in 1974. Wilma moved to Byram in 2006 after her husband’s death. Wilma was a house-wife, mother, and a Christian woman who was an active member in Brunswick Community Church in Trivoli, IL and Lake Harbor Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 64 ½ years; her parents; sons, Barry J. Stomberg and Donald E. Stomberg; and grandson, Shawn Gathman. She is survived by four daughters, Wanda L. Smith of Byram, Barbara L. Beeman of Creve Coeur, IL, Susan L. Sherman (Jim) of Crystal Springs, and Hettie L. Shutt (Jon) of Creve Coeur, IL; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
