Our Staff

Our History

Chancellor Funeral Home and Garden of Memories Perpetual Care Park Cemetery opened our doors in 2002 to serve the families of southern Rankin County and the surrounding area. There had been the need for a local funeral home and perpetual care cemetery in the area for many years. People have had to travel outside this area many miles to a funeral facility on the worst day of their life.

Our goal was to bring a convenient, full service facility, offering traditional as well as contemporary services to the area, with each service personalized to meet the families' request, at prices affordable to all. Our facilities are modern, spacious and designed with the families' needs and desires in mind. We have three spacious suites, coffee lounge, and a chapel that seats over 250 people comfortably and are centrally located on Highway 49 South, providing convenient access to all areas with easy entrance and over 100 parking spaces to accommodate all.

We offer a beautiful twelve acre perpetual care cemetery, which adjoins the funeral home or the ability to serve any cemetery the family desires.

In 2004 Chancellor Funeral Home expanded to Byram to better serve the needs of the people in Hinds and Copiah County. This facility located on Siwell Road has three suites, a spacious common area, a coffee lounge and a beautiful chapel that will accommodate up to 250 people. There is over 110 parking spaces in a well lit area and is easily handicap accessible.

Bill Chancellor invites you and your family to become a part of a new tradition in caring and service. We offer complete traditional and graveside services, cremation, work with out of town funeral homes to send  and receive loved ones and strive to make each service we handle personal and meaningful. Each staff member is guided by the same principle -The family comes first.

It is our desire to serve the people of this area, treating every family with the highest degree of compassion, dignity, and professionalism.

Jason Goad
Cemetery Maintenance Supervisor

Hailing from the Mississippi Delta, our highly favored maintenance supervisor, Jason Goad loves working at Chancellor, especially because of the people he works with. A former police officer for both Florence and Richland Police Departments, Jason spends his free time woodworking, catfishing, and spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and his two children, Megan and Sam. He has called Florence his home since 2011, and his favorite quote is from Sir Isaac Newton: “I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.”
